Chemical Peels

Chemical peels improve skin tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce the signs of sun damage and age spots. A variety of different chemical peels, such as Glycolic Acid and Beta Lactic Acid, are used to treat scars, acne, damaged skin, and other conditions. The chemical solution causes the outer layer of skin to flake and peel off, revealing smoother, more evenly toned skin. The facial skin often feels tighter and shows fewer signs of aging after a chemical peel.

By removing the damaged outer layers of skin, to different depths based on the type of peel used, peels can reduce signs of acne or acne scarring in addition to improving the skin's texture. Side effects of chemical peel treatment are usually minimal and brief, often limited to a short period of redness and irritation.

The procedure is speedy with no need for anesthesia and with little to no downtime before the patient may resume daily activity. Some redness may be present but will fade as the old skin flakes off and the new skin is revealed.

Mild peels, quick recovery:
Ideal for mild acne, skin rejuvenation
Medium strength peels:
Treating uneven skin tone, minor signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles
Deeper peels, several days of redness and downtime may be necessary:
More aggressive peel treatment for treating pre-cancerous lesions, moderate wrinkles.
